Holyheld vs Wise Business

Wise Business fits a company that pays and gets paid by bank transfer in many currencies, with account details in 22 currencies, a one-time £50 set-up fee and no monthly plan. Holyheld Business fits a company that also works in stablecoins, which Wise doesn’t allow: Holyheld converts between stablecoins and USD or EUR in the same account.

Where Holyheld differs from Wise

Stablecoins

Stablecoins, which Wise doesn’t allow.

A Wise account can’t send money to crypto wallets. Holyheld converts USDC and EURC to USD or EUR, and back, in the account.

Accounts

Bank transfers and stablecoins in one account.

Named USD and EUR accounts sit next to your stablecoin balances, so a payment in either arrives in the same place.

Stablecoins are the main difference

Wise says its accounts, personal and business, can’t be used to buy, sell or trade cryptocurrencies. It doesn’t allow sending money to crypto exchanges or crypto wallets, and it doesn’t support businesses involved in the exchange or trading of cryptocurrencies (Wise).

With Holyheld, stablecoins sit next to the bank accounts. Off-ramp transfers turn supported stablecoins into USD or EUR, on-ramp transfers do the reverse, and swaps exchange one stablecoin for another. To move stablecoins to a bank account, read How to off-ramp USDC to an IBAN.

Holyheld works with USDC on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, Avalanche and Solana, and with EURC on Ethereum, Base and Solana. Companies outside the EEA can also use USDT, PYUSD and USDG.

Which one fits

Wise fits

  • A company invoicing customers in many currencies that wants local account details for each.
  • A company that receives USD wires often, at 6.11 USD per payment.

Holyheld fits

  • A company paid in USDC or EURC that settles its costs in USD or EUR.
  • A company that wants stablecoin conversion and bank transfers in one account.

Common questions

  • No. Wise says a Wise account can’t be used to buy, sell or trade cryptocurrencies, and that you can’t send money to crypto exchanges or crypto wallets. The rules apply to personal and business accounts.

  • Wise lists businesses involved in cryptocurrency among those it doesn’t work for, and its position on cryptocurrency says it may close a business account involved in the exchange or trading of cryptocurrencies.

  • Registering is free. In the UK, getting account details to receive in 22 currencies costs £50 once, and Wise lists no monthly plan fee.

  • Yes. The named USD account receives wires, domestic or international.

  • Wise offers no OUR choice. For USD sent outside the US it predicts correspondent fees on some routes and adds them to the price so the recipient gets the full amount, though it says it can’t guarantee this on every payment.
