The official address

Copy the address from here or from Circle's own list, and compare it in full with what your wallet or exchange shows.

Never copy an address from a payment you received or from your transaction history: that is where attackers plant look-alike addresses.

Native or bridged USDC

Circle explains the difference on its page about bridged USDC.

  • Native USDC on HyperEVM is issued by Circle. It is the token at the address above.
  • Bridged USDC is created by a third party: a bridge holds USDC on another network and issues its own token on HyperEVM in its place. Circle doesn't issue it, it has a different address, and it is sometimes labelled USDC.e.
  • A service that accepts native USDC doesn't automatically accept the bridged token, so check the address, not the name.

Spotting an impostor token

Fake tokens copy the name, the symbol and the logo. The one thing they cannot copy is the address.

  • Anyone can create a token called USDC on HyperEVM. The name and logo prove nothing; only the address does.
  • Compare the whole address, not just its first and last characters: look-alike addresses are made to match those.
  • Treat a token that arrives unprompted with suspicion. Fake tokens are sent to wallets to look like a payment; don't approve, swap or forward them.
  • Open the address on Hyperscan and check that it is the token you expect before you accept or send a payment.
