- Paying a supplier or contractor who invoices in USDC.
- Funding those payments from the USD or EUR the company holds.
- Matching each onchain payment to its invoice in QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage.
- Agree the payment terms Asset, network, wallet address and invoice currency, in writing.
- Fund the payment Convert USD or EUR, or swap the stablecoin you hold.
- Send and record it Keep the transaction hash with the invoice number.
Agree the payment terms with the supplier
Settle these points before the first payment, and keep them with the supplier's record:
- Invoice currency. Whether the invoice is in USD, EUR or a stablecoin amount, and who bears any conversion difference.
- Asset. The specific stablecoin, for example USDC. Circle distinguishes native USDC from bridged USDC.
- Network. The network the supplier receives on. The same ticker can exist on several networks.
- Wallet address. The supplier's receiving address on that network.
Verify the wallet address
Treat a new or changed wallet address the way you would treat new bank details: confirm it through a separate channel, such as a call to a known contact, before paying. Changed payment details are how business email compromise works; the FBI's IC3 recorded 21,442 such complaints in 2024, with close to $2.8 billion lost (Nacha).
On blockchains, attackers also plant look-alike addresses in your transaction history; one study counted 270 million attempts (USENIX Security 2025). Copy the address from the supplier's confirmed record, never from history, and send a small test payment to a new supplier first.
Fund the payment
Pay from whichever balance the company holds:
- A stablecoin balance in the right asset. Send it directly.
- A different stablecoin. Swap it first; swaps between stablecoins cost 0%.
- USD or EUR. Convert with an on-ramp transfer, which costs 0.5% on the Business membership.
Holyheld works with supported networks including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base and Solana. Check the asset and network combination available for your payment before you confirm it.
Send the payment and keep the record
For each payment, keep the invoice number, the asset, the network, the amount sent, the conversion details and fees, and the transaction hash. The hash proves the payment onchain; the invoice number ties it to your books.
Holyheld syncs transactions with QuickBooks Online, Xero and Sage, and monthly statements download from the Documents tab. With team roles, an assistant can prepare a payment that a director approves.
What it costs
| Step | Cost on Holyheld Business |
|---|---|
| Swap between stablecoins | 0% |
| On-ramp transfer from USD or EUR | 0.5% |
| Network fee for the onchain transfer | Set by the network |
For example, a €5,000 invoice paid in USDC and funded from EUR costs €25 in on-ramp fees, plus the network fee. If the company already holds USDC, the payment costs only the network fee. Membership is CHF 50 a month or CHF 500 a year, excluding VAT; see Business pricing.
When a bank payment is the better choice
If the supplier prefers fiat, or needs a bank reference for its own accounts, pay by SEPA or wire instead. When your company holds stablecoins and the supplier wants a bank transfer, off-ramp the stablecoins to an IBAN first.
Common questions
Can a stablecoin payment be reversed?
Not by the sender. Once the transfer is confirmed on the network, only the recipient can send the funds back, which is why the address is verified before paying.
How do I record a stablecoin supplier payment in Xero or QuickBooks?
Holyheld syncs the transaction to QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage. Match it to the supplier's bill using the invoice number you kept with the transaction hash.
Which stablecoins and networks can I use?
Holyheld works with supported networks including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base and Solana, and the list of supported stablecoins and networks keeps expanding. Check the combination available in your account.
