What a USDC transfer cost on 30 September 2026

The fee a sender paid for a plain USDC transfer on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base and Solana, the networks Holyheld’s pages name among those it supports. Each figure comes from 240 transfers sampled across the day, valued in US dollars at the price of the network’s token at the time.

NetworkMedianMiddle halfMedian, in the network’s tokenTransfers
Ethereum$0.12$0.09 to $0.230.000045 ETH240
Arbitrum$0.0022$0.0022 to $0.00330.00000084 ETH240
Base$0.00073$0.00055 to $0.00100.00000027 ETH240
Solana$0.00067$0.00060 to $0.00160.0000056 SOL240

On Solana, a transfer to a wallet that has never held USDC also funds that wallet’s token account. That takes 0.0015 SOL, the minimum the network required on 27 October 2026, or about $0.18 at the median SOL price of 30 September 2026; it is held as rent rather than charged as a fee.

Methodology

Public data only
This edition uses public data only: DefiLlama’s stablecoin supply figures and public blockchain records. It contains no Holyheld payment data, no forecasts and no market-share figures.
Supply
Circulating supply per network comes from DefiLlama’s stablecoins API, using its daily points stamped 00:00 UTC on 1 July 2026 and 1 October 2026: the close of 30 June 2026 and of 30 September 2026. A network’s figure can include bridged forms of the token that DefiLlama attributes to it. The networks add up to DefiLlama’s own total for each day, and the computation checks that they do. Change is the difference between the two points, and share is a network’s part of the total at the close.
Transfer costs
For each hour of 30 September 2026 (UTC), from the first block after half past the hour, we took the first 10 successful transactions on each network in which a wallet sent USDC directly: a call to transfer() on Circle’s native USDC contract on Ethereum, Arbitrum and Base, or a Solana transaction whose only token instruction moves USDC. The fee is what the sender paid: gas used times the effective gas price, plus Base’s fee for posting the transaction to Ethereum, or the Solana transaction fee. Each fee is valued at the hourly ETH or SOL price nearest its block, and the table gives the median and the middle half (25th to 75th percentile). Transfers sent through smart-contract wallets, apps or exchanges can cost more or less, and fees move with demand, so this is one day’s typical cost, not a quote.
Recomputing the figures
Every number on this page is computed from the raw data file below: the supply points, each sampled transaction’s hash and fee inputs, and the prices used. Each transaction can be looked up by its hash on a block explorer.
