ACH holidays 2027

In 2027, ACH payments settle on banking days only: not at weekends and not on the 11 Federal Reserve holidays listed below. A holiday that falls on a Saturday leaves the Fed open the Friday before, and one on a Sunday closes it the Monday after.

When will it arrive?

Pick the payment, then the day and time you send it. The calculator applies that system's closing days and cut-off, and gives the business day the payment settles, with every day it waits through and why.

Your bank can stop taking payments before the system does. If you know its cut-off, add it and the calculator counts from there.

It all runs in your browser; nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

Holyheld Business sends and receives ACH, SEPA, wires and Faster Payments. The pricing page lists the fees, and the off-ramp converts supported stablecoins to fiat for company payments.

Leave it empty to count from the system's own cut-off.

It settles in FedACH's next-day settlement at 8:30 a.m. EDT.

Sent Friday 2 July 2027 at 5:00 p.m. EDT

Why this day

  • 5:00 p.m. EDT is after FedACH's last same-day deadline, 4:45 p.m. EDT, so it moves to the next business day.
  • Saturday 3 July: weekend
  • Sunday 4 July: weekend (Independence Day)
  • Monday 5 July: Federal Reserve holiday (Independence Day, observed)

These are the system's own times. Your bank can stop taking payments earlier; add its cut-off to count from it.

Federal Reserve holidays 2027

The Federal Reserve Banks close FedACH and the Fedwire Funds Service on these holidays, as well as at weekends. The list is the Federal Reserve's own schedule for 2027.

When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the Reserve Banks open as normal on the Friday before; when it falls on a Sunday, they close on the Monday after.

Juneteenth National Independence Day falls on a Saturday, so Friday 18 June is a business day. Independence Day falls on a Sunday, so the Fed is closed on Monday 5 July. Christmas Day falls on a Saturday, so Friday 24 December is a business day. New Year's Day 2028 falls on a Saturday, so Friday 31 December is a business day.

FedACH has not yet published the hours it stops and restarts processing around the 2027 holidays. The holidays themselves are final.

FedACH windows and cut-offs

FedACH settles in batches. A same-day payment settles at the end of the window it makes; anything later settles the next banking morning.

These are FedACH's deadlines for banks. Your bank sets its own cut-offs for you, which can be earlier.

Clock changes 2027Times are US Eastern time (ET): EST, and EDT from 14 March to 7 November. From 14 to 27 March and 31 October to 6 November 2027, New York is an hour closer to Frankfurt and London than usual, because the US and Europe change their clocks on different Sundays. The calculator allows for it.

Questions about ACH in 2027

  • ACH payments do not settle at weekends or on these Federal Reserve holidays in 2027: Friday 1 January (New Year's Day), Monday 18 January (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), Monday 15 February (Washington's Birthday, Presidents Day), Monday 31 May (Memorial Day), Monday 5 July (Independence Day, observed), Monday 6 September (Labor Day), Monday 11 October (Columbus Day), Thursday 11 November (Veterans Day) and Thursday 25 November (Thanksgiving Day).

  • If it falls on a Saturday, the Reserve Banks are open on the Friday before, so ACH settles as normal that day. If it falls on a Sunday, they close on the Monday after.

  • FedACH takes same-day files until 10:30 a.m. ET, 2:45 p.m. ET and 4:45 p.m. ET, and settles them at 1:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET. Your bank sets its own cut-off, which can be earlier, and Same Day ACH is limited to $1,000,000 per payment.

  • After FedACH's last same-day deadline at 4:45 p.m. ET it can no longer settle that day, so it settles at 8:30 a.m. ET on the next banking day, usually Monday. FedACH's 8:00 p.m. ET deadline runs Sunday to Thursday only, not on Fridays.

  • Yes. Good Friday and Easter Monday are not Federal Reserve holidays, so ACH settles as normal on Friday 26 March and Monday 29 March, while euro and UK payments stop.
